PAThS is looking for students who...

desire to perform on a level equivalent to the graduates of institutions with similar programs elsewhere in the world.

What Students Are Saying...

Being in PAThS has unmasked my unconscious ignorance and created a deeper hunger in my life for God. PAThS is a right vision at the right time and in the right direction! This training offers hope for future African generations.

Pan-Africa Theological Seminary

Training not only for the sake of a degree -- training to change the soul of a continent

Pan-Africa Theological Seminary came into being because leaders of the Assemblies of God Church of Africa have recognized the relation of higher level training to the health of the church. For decades the Assemblies of God has led the way in the number of Bible schools across the continent. However, diploma-level and bachelor-level training, though necessary and helpful, were only the foundation for preparing ministers and church leaders for the challenges of this rapidly growing church in 21 st century Africa. The need to train those who in turn train on the B.A. and M.A. levels was seen as a top priority.

With the multitude of winds of doctrine from every corner of the globe infiltrating the church as well as the deep hunger of individuals for training that was not available to them on the continent, it became apparent during the 1990s that the church must offer higher level training. Five MA-level programs were opened during the decade and committees from every region began to meet to formulate plans for the first doctoral program of the Assemblies of God in Africa.

It was paramount to the leaders that the mission of the seminary remain solidly focused on the church’s reason for being. Because of that, every course at PAThS is intentionally missional in emphasis, Pentecostal in orientation, and contextual in application. Jesus’ example of servant leadership is a model that every PAThS student is encouraged to achieve in order to follow worthily in His steps and accomplish His mission.

Africa has committed people ready to lead the church into a future of God’s blessing. It is the conviction of PAThS leadership that by further equipping those who study at the seminary, biblically-based churches will remain focused on harvest and will impact Africa and the world for the Kingdom of God.

  4. Church's Role in Training
We value the church's role in mandating training, receiving the benefits of training, and mediating the same to the world.

  5. Servant Leadership
We value Jesus as the model of the Ideal Servant leading the church to fulfill the mission of God in the power of the Holy Spirit.
